So
who am I?
...Well I don't know
the answer to that, but I've had a paintbrush in my hand since I was a
boy and I love to paint.
I find I enjoy the
challenge of Art; taking a normal everyday scene and making it different,
more exciting and vibrant. It can be a frustrating and lengthy process
but the end results are always worth it.
I like the fact that
my work/style is very varied. I enjoy not being tied down to any discipline
or genre.
I strive to capture
atmosphere in my paintings, notably; the excitement of a storm or the
colours exploding from a landscape. I imagine escaping into them.
When preparing a canvas
for a piece of work I usually apply various layers of thick acylic paint.
I also often use different media (i.e. recycled newspapers) to gain depth
and give each canvas an edge and a certain uniqueness.
I draw in either a
loose suggestive way or in a more technical style. I apply paint spontaneously
with a sense of freedom and confidence.
